Micromax Enters Laptop Market.

Micromax does not make laptops. At least, that is what most people think. They are a smartphone manufacturer. Well, that has changed. The company on Thursday announced the Canvas Lapbook for Rs.13,999, which is its first notebook. It is not that the company has not forayed into the Windows PC territory before. It has launched the Laptab hybrid before, but the Lapbook is its first laptop through and through.
"Micromax has always strived to bring the best technology innovations to close the gap between consumer needs and available devices. We are pleased to partner with Intel and Microsoft to bring a device for our customers which gives them complete freedom - freedom from piracy as it comes with genuine Windows 10, freedom from restrictions thanks to the super-fast Intel processor, long-lasting battery and lightweight design giving them freedom to do whatever they want because it is their own personal device. With Canvas Lapbook, we have addressed a very important need of affordable computing, in line with the PM's Digital India initiative, aiming to connect the next billion with our power packed device,"said Shubhojit Sen, Micromax's chief marketing officer.
Micromax also has a new model of the Canvas Laptab in the works. It is called the Laptab LT777 and it will launch next week for Rs.17,999. It will be available October 13 onwards. It will also feature a 11.6-inch HD screen and Micromax is talking up an interesting docking solution. It will also run on Windows 10 and is said to have a claimed battery life of 10 hours.
